Hi! You’ve probably figured this out by now, but I’m Ember — the artist behind the camera.
My own love story began here in Portage when my (now) husband and I were cast as lovers in a local production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” Needless to say, I’ve been a sucker for romantic stories and serendipitous beginnings ever since. Today, I’m raising my family and building my business in the same place where my love bloomed.
Documenting the beauty of real life in both the big moments and the small is the thing that gets me up in the morning. That sounds pretty profound, but I truly feel that love is the most important experience of this one life we get. So I am deeply honored when couples invite me to witness and document their love.

I get it. Like, what do you do with your hands? Where do you point your eyeballs!?!
How do we do this without feeling weird?
Lemme tell you how. I genuinely get to know you and so I learn what sort of photos you want … and don’t want. I’ll help you find natural movement together and focus on each
other instead of the camera (guess what, I don’t expect you to stare at me and smile
because how does that feel real?). Here’s the thing: You love each other, so your job is lean into that. If you’re worried about what to do with your hands and eyes
… just keep them on each other.
My goal is that, by the end of the night, you’ve forgotten I’m even there.

ENGAGEMENT SESSION
Next steps we set a date for your engagement session! It's a chill, intimate opportunity to simply focus on each other (and get over those photo jitters). That could mean Scrabble and coffee in your living room or packing a picnic and a couple cold ones and meeting me at the beach.

PHOTO DELIVERY
After your wedding, I’ll get to work editing all your images to highlight the emotion of your day. You can expect sneak peeks the next day, and I’ll deliver your fully edited gallery within eight weeks.

All your questions answered
WILL YOU TRAVEL?
Yes! Let me know what you’re planning and I’ll share a proposal with you. Locations beyond two hours by car from Portage la Prairie will include an accommodation fee. Up to 200km round trip is included in all wedding packages.
HOW MANY PHOTOS CAN WE EXPECT?
On average, I deliver 100-150 photos per hour of coverage. Additionally, every single photo you receive will have both a color and black-and-white version.
WHAT IF WE’RE NOT SURE ABOUT ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS?
All of my wedding packages include an engagement session because I really believe that the more we get to know each other, the better I can tell your love story in an authentic way. If you already had engagement photos done, or time is tight, we can chat about customizing a package that works better for you!
DO YOU USE A SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER?
Yes! All my classic wedding packages include a second photographer to get all those wedding day angles.
CAN YOU CUSTOMIZE PACKAGES?
Yes! If you’re eloping, planning a micro or a destination wedding, get in touch and tell me about it. I’ll create a proposal for you.
HOW EARLY SHOULD WE REACH OUT?
